This retreat was one filled with vast knowledge about various spiritual traditions. Bro Jabari really shed light on KMT like I've ever heard it before. I am happy I was able to be in his presence to learn more about our ancestors. Pastor Marvia was absolutely beautiful at her interpretation of the bible. The way how our ancestors would have seen it. She taught in a way that would have anyone african go deep to think if Christianity is for them. Thank you for the impacts all the speakers made and I am forever grateful to Okomfo Nana Fofie for very continued work in taking this knowledge to the people! Medaase pa!

The spiritual retreat was timely and offered such phenomenal information about varied spiritual systems. It was a treat to learn about Kemet from the impassioned speaker and to see how language and time has caused so much adaptation of our information on spirit. The event was refreshing, I fully regret not being able to participate physically and in all the sessions. Extreme gratitude to Nana Fofie, the members of Sankofie, the Abosom and the ancestors that made this event possible.

really enjoyed the spiritual retreat. All the presentation was done so wonderfully and the information was shared with such joy. For me, I utterly enjoyed the presentation on Ifa by Babalawo Oluwole A. Ifakunle. I would really have loved to meet him face to face.

In addition to being a presenter, I had the pleasure of joining the retreat. To say my mind was blown by the quality of the presenters’ information would be an understatement. Having the opportunity to hear directly from practitioners and teachers of various religions gave me perspective of my own practice and my own history. It was moving. I hope each presenter returns for a longer session next time. My only feedback, it was not long enough! Thank you.

    (3) Days worth of knowledge has allowed me to reclaim my Africa identity and shake off the years of western indoctrination. To know your ancestors greatness is power, is a superpower in today’s society! “Yeda awurade ase “

The spiritual retreat explored the theme ' is ours the image and likeness of God.... The conversations that were shared by all the presenters brought refreshing, new, and thought-provoking perspectives that forced me to delve deeply in my personal thoughts about God in relation to the projected 'image and likeness.' All presenters, opened the doors to new insights to Kemet, Cuba and the Molongo, Christianity and Yoruba religions. I am very grateful for the experience because this can only enrich my spiritual journey and point me in directions to seek more....

The retreat was a blissful knowledge experience. The 3rd day was such an emotional and high energy one for me. So thankful for being apart of the activities and learning more than what western history books would not record.

The Sankofie retreat April 15 to 17 2022 was wonderful. Sankofie honours all Spiritual systems for growth.Presentation were done by Members of Sankofie as well as four (4) dynamic speakers from home and abroad. Greetings and salutations to all. There is a Jamaican Poet - Frederick Williams who taught me this song decades ago "one, one mi Nini man oh, ole time sintin cum back again, oh Nana oh"
Our 1st speaker Jabari Osaze, excellent, excellent presentation looking at Kemit the original name before Egypt- using of visual aid to imprint. Some of my learning 1. Kemit means door. The beat & oldest Diety & protectors of pregnant mothers are the Twa (Pygmies). Many of the names we are still using like Horace comes from Heru (Horus). Paris is not a French name, it simply means Par Is after Auset (Isis) He also reminded us that our Ancestors comes& go from one realm to the next so it's important to feed them & call their names. Most importantly for me was a picture that bought me some time ago that he was able to display from his archieve.
Baba Awo Ifakunle another excellent presentation in which he shared that the Sun represent God, the rays are the different parts of God. he also shared a story on how Obatalaa came from heaven to earth. He also used songs to further illustrate. In his Yoruba language whilst tranafering same in English for example "Get up & dance whilst u still can.
Our brother from Cuba, wow, he covered assmilation, in other words, comboning Bantu, Yoruba, Christianity, Malonga. His message. Was also on taking care of nature, love our brothers & humankind and being a good citizen.
It should be noted that the youngest participant was under 2 years, unless u saw him moving around, one would never know that a child was there. Hence my calling him Babatunde ( the one dat has returned.
P s GUH DEH Sankofie. The Drumming & dancing along wid di food were awesome./code>

The 2023 Spiritual Retreat, with the theme "intersections of Spirituality and Wellness" was an awesome learning experience! Much opportunities were provided for spiritual, intellectual and personal growth. The presentations from the perspectives of Akan, Yoruba, Taino, Angelogy, Molungo and Christianity, despite there differences, all agreed that we must see ourselves first as spirit beings and all that this encompasses. Our journey to wellness, must include reprogramming and healing, acceptance of who are and reclaiming our ancestral ways. Once the spirit is well, the mind and body will naturally follow to truly experience wellness as "well-beings."
