One of the things we know about humankind is that we have an impulse to seek for and examine that which we know is greater than we are. We want to know what created us and how we got here. We've been preoccupied with the nature of God and the universe. All of it in order for us to walk the earth in a more meaningful, impactful way so we can return to source more expanded. How do we use spiritual practice towards this expansion, this growth into higher selves?
In its widest definition a spiritual practice is how we seek to express love and gratitude in in and through every pore in our bodies, every moment of the day, the week, the months and years that come. Spiritual practice is infusing love and gratitude in every aspect of our being and in the relationships through and in which we perform our lives. We share the following:
- Everything revolves around spirit
The body was created to house something
The mind was created to allow something to process
The spirit has always existed - Mind, body, spirit is a triune established by the creator
- The body and the mind are implements through which spirit expresses and implements it’s will
- Spiritual practice is finding what nurtures your spirit, mind and body and creating patterns with them to use to evolve yourself into a ‘well’ being.
- Spiritual practice is how you breath, eat, go to the toilet, how we say good morning and good evening
- Spiritual practice us how you honour your own spirit and acknowledge your connection to a greater spirit
- You need to check up on your spirit regularly. We should not take chance with it. Spirit is powerful but also fragile. We are bombarded everyday by much that could destroy our spirit. We need to check in to make sure that we are not being gravely damaged and reinforce whatever helpful food that was fed to our spirit
- It is good to select a special time when you devote and for the appreciation of you own spirit. No matter what comes or what is happening, you have this to pull on and provide even one speck of normalcy
- A spiritual practice is not stagnant
It should deepen and reflect your connection to spirit. Gratitude is fundamental to our spiritual practice. - What is the role of medicines i.e. food, exercise, rituals, cleansing
- Review your spiritual practice to see if it is serving you well
